Owners Brent Savage and Nick Hildebrandt have enlisted the talents of Head Chef Chris Benedet, who continues his ascent as the brilliant alchemist of the vegetable world. He mixes up humble fresh vegetables with a few pinches of exotic herbs to produce imaginative, delicious dishes. Yellow is a contemporary bistro with an edgy interior design softened by a yellow colour palette to create a warm and cheery interior. Closely spaced tables make for a lively atmosphere. At Yellow, you’ll enjoy simply sensational vegetarian cuisine presented as artistic creations on the plate. As a prelude to the main event, spicy, crunchy quinoa and Sichuan crackers tingle on the tongue. Radicchio and sweet potato are dressed with a sauce of mustard seed and masala, a perfectly balanced dish of smoky bitter radicchio offset by the sweeter elements. Eggplant, corn and black garlic is a knockout dish – the soft, silky eggplant and crunchy corn are a blissful combination. PSST! Saturday night is degustation night.
