Stray Neighbour is the brainchild of three friends who live locally, with Head Chef Romina Gagliardi (ex-Bistro Gitan) heading up the kitchen with a European-inspired menu.
Clever design principles elevate this warehouse restaurant. Large drop globes shimmer against the black and white walls, while timber panelling and climbing plants soften the effect. Evening dining is especially appealing, with the addition of lowlights across the venue.
Designed for sharing and adaptable based on your appetite, the small bites are perfect for a light start. Haloumi sliders are served in brioche sliders with pickles and luscious lemon aioli. The cured salmon is a beautiful dish: blush pink salmon contrasts with blood-red beetroot cubes, while the goat curd offers a salty, creamy contrast – all to be enjoyed with lavosh bread. Mains are hearty, yet refined – the chicken schnitzel features juicy, succulent chicken breast coated in a crunchy herb coating and the light salad accompaniment of cabbage slaw is flecked through with dill, mint and light yoghurt dressing.
