UPDATE: Alessio Di Bari took over as Head Chef in February 2019. Chef Courtney Websdale heads up the team at Sosta Cucina, and with a strong focus on seasonal and local produce the menu screams flavour and authenticity. Situated in a trendy inner-city North Melbourne location, Sosta Cucina offers a buzzing atmosphere and city streetscape feel. Well-thought-out decor and great ambience makes for a comfortable and authentic Italian restaurant feel. Well-spaced seating and appropriate table settings set the mood, plus there’s a central bar and additional outdoor undercover seating. Strong Italian tones ring true – from the warm welcome to the flavours that each dish brings. Bolstered by several daily specials, the menu has something for everyone. Linguine with blue swimmer crab, breadcrumbs and bottarga is light, fresh and flavour packed; presentation is on trend and portion size is just right. The insalata mista is a highlight, with crisp salad leaves, sweet apple and creamy gorgonzola all tied together by a delightful fresh herb vinaigrette. PSST!
