Ripples Milsons Point

L'avis de Gault&Millau

Chef Giacomo Catalano leads the team in the kitchen at this branch of Alessandro Pavoni’s Sydney Restaurant Group. The menu is Italian focused and the food is clean and fresh and well matched to the beautiful waterfront location. The decor is kept simple, with sandstone featuring heavily on the floors and benches. Seating is outdoors with clear blinds to protect diners in cooler weather. Start the meal with some nibbles that can be shared, such as the little ham croquetas served with a creamy smoked paprika dip. Or try the tempura zucchini flowers, stuffed with smooth, mint-laced goat cheese and lightly fried until golden and crunchy. For mains, you might like to try a seafood dish, and the busiate pasta is hard to beat. Neat, twisted spirals of al-dente pasta are liberally sprinkled with tender morsels of octopus, crab and mussels and dressed in a delicious sauce with amazing depth of flavour, enhanced with just a touch of chilli. PSST! On warm, sunny days, catch a ferry from Circular Quay to Luna Park and step off just metres from Ripples. Reviewed for the 2019 Guide
