Executive Chef Andrew Davies and Head Chef Joshua Lansley have teamed up to create an accessible and affordable menu of contemporary dishes using sustainable, local produce. The rustic timber-lined dining room on the ground floor has communal tables, while upstairs there are more traditional seating options. This popular restaurant provides everything from simple snacks to a solid business lunch, and it is a regular ‘go to’ for local businesspeople. The brave and diverse menu works very well, and proudly promotes the chefs’ dedication to curing, pickling, baking, brining and smoking. Salmon, wakame, wasabi and ponzu is inspired by the flavours of Japan. It is a fresh and zingy dish that will get your tastebuds into gear. For a quick bite, try the roasted pork bun with Kewpie mayonnaise. The fluffy bun is the perfect complement to the rich, flavour-packed meat. PSST! The restaurant offers a great-value tasting menu that includes all of the chefs’ favourite dishes for $75 per person.
