Mr. Ottorino

L'avis de Gault&Millau

Matt Tine previously worked at Grossi Florentino Grill for 11 years. At Mr. Ottorino, he honours the traditions of his family by serving southern Italian dishes that have been passed down through the generations. Look past the crisp white facade, and inside you’ll find a cosy and rustic Italian restaurant with exposed brick walls featuring an eclectic mix of prints. The Sicilian-inspired menu offers an impressive selection of street dishes complemented by pastas and some larger meat and fish platters. Smoked Robbins Island brisket is paired with a tangy and smooth paprika-infused aioli, crisp pickled vegetables, dill and parsley. It represents a great combination of textures and flavours. Tortellini comprises plump pasta stuffed with tender veal shank and lounging in a decadent reggiano sauce with hints of balsamic that cut the through the richness. This dish is made with care and attention. PSST! Indulge in the traditional ‘Ficcanaso,’ which is a selection of home-style sharing dishes for $55 per person.
