Melba

L'avis de Gault&Millau

Executive Chef Steve Grein’s contemporary menu is eclectic, drawing its inspiration from some of the world’s most renowned cuisines. His dishes are created with fresh and tasty ingredients garnered from local waters and pastures. Situated within The Langham hotel, the restaurant is known for its smorgasbord buffet and is popular with large groups. The river and city views from the dining room are a spectacular backdrop to the ongoing theatre from the open-plan kitchen. Take a trip around the world, with the choice of Japanese sushi, Chinese dumplings, Indian tandoori dishes, Italian pastas and more. Seafood linguine with scallops, prawns, calamari and Moreton Bay bug features a generous serving of pasta and a light and creamy garlic, onion, olive oil and white wine sauce. Roasted duck breast is perfectly pink, and sits atop a mound of port-infused green lentils and roasted Belgian endive. Sweet orange segments, a light cranberry jus and a slice of pancetta complete the dish. PSST! Feel like a star by taking advantage of the $15 valet parking special when you enjoy lunch or high tea at Melba Restaurant on weekdays. Reviewed for the 2017 guide
