The team at Mecca Bah present a complex fusion of flavours, influenced by the cuisines of the Middle East and the Mediterranean.
Mecca Bah is a family-friendly restaurant with a huge outdoor terrace under a large awning with twirling ceiling fans. Indoors, a large circular bar with a flowing white ceiling hints at a Sultan’s tent – with ottomans and ornate brass tables part of the seating. There’s a good wine list with reasonable prices, and the service is efficient and relaxed.
Mecca Bah has an extensive Middle Eastern menu featuring Turkish pizzas and spicy tagines. The dishes are enough for one, but are also suited to share. Lightly spiced fried Moroccan cauliflower is fresh, hot and crispy on the outside yet still juicy in the centre and is served with a tahini dipping sauce. The baharat-spiced lamb shish kebab is served hanging on it’s own special frame above smoking embers, making it easy to remove the meat and vegetables. The well-seasoned meat is served with Lebanese bread.
