Lucio's Italian Restaurant

L'avis de Gault&Millau

This year, Lucio Galletto’s eponymous restaurant celebrates 35 years of serving Italian cuisine to diners at its Paddington premises. Chef George Kohler ensures that diners’ expectations continue to be met and surpassed. Art plays a pivotal role in the decor of Lucio’s and is a main character within the food presentation and its service. Everything is vibrant, attractive, and something to be admired. The cuisine has a strong focus on northern Italian fare, which prizes itself on dishes that are comprised of seafood and pastas. The tortelloni di pera is a creative wonder-dish that is essentially poached pear tortelloni with a stracchino sauce, dressed with sweet and sour barberries and pine nuts. The harmonious flavours will excite, as you may never have experienced such a pasta dish before. The trittico di mare is an attractive seafood entree comprising grilled king prawn, baked scallop with umami butter, a Ligurian fish croquette served with ‘nduja crumb, fennel puree and apple cucumber. PSST! Lucio has published several books that can be purchased and customised with a personal message. Reviewed for the 2019 Guide
