The youthful and very spirited owner/Chef Naoki Fukushima arrived in Sydney from Japan 12 years ago. He learned his skills in his homeland and his talents lie in washoku. Kujin is loosely translated to ‘a person who eats’, and this is the perfect place to do so in a modern Japanese setting that welcomes all walks of life. Don’t be fooled by the plastic menus as this isn’t your average Japanese casual eatery. Kujin ensures that quality is foremost through the use of the very best produce. Japan is widely known for expert knowledge on fishing, farming, preparing and cooking marine life. At Kujin you will experience this. The sashimi rice bowl is an impressive array of colours emanating from the kingfish, tuna and salmon, which are cut into bite-size pieces. Accompanied with miso soup and garnished with sesame seeds, shallot, wasabi and impressive pickled ginger, it is a dish that will have you return time and again. PSST!
