Jardin Tan

L'avis de Gault&Millau

Jardin Tan allows Chef Shannon Bennett to indulge his love of South-East Asian cuisine, and as the name suggests, he shines a light on the stellar fusion of Vietnamese and French flavours. At home in the city’s beautiful Botanic Gardens, this is a wonderful place for a relaxed stroll through the park, followed by a late breakfast or a long lunch. With indoor and outdoor dining areas, a kiosk and a beer garden, there are plenty of options to please all. There is a share of Australian favourites on the menu, but all are given some Vietnamese flair, like the salt and pepper squid served with chilli jam and a bunch of basil, or the barramundi wrapped in fig leaves with a spicy salad. A standout for both breakfast and lunch, the popular banh xeo is a sizzling and crispy mung bean and coconut pancake encasing pork and prawn, perfect for tearing off flavour packed-chunks and wrapping them in lettuce with mint. PSST! If you are looking for a unique venue for your next corporate event or wedding, Jardin Tan offers plenty of creative options. Reviewed for the 2019 Guide
