Inspiration for the dishes presented at INDU comes from the coastal regions of southern India and Sri Lanka, backed up by a philosophy of using the freshest of seasonal produce.
The entrance looks like a fire exit, but when you walk in it opens up to a wonderfully stylish restaurant. Big brass bells hang from the ceiling, giving the place a unique feel. The area for groups is stylish and atmospheric, featuring exposed brick and attractive glasses and cutlery, with round upholstered booths adding to the intimate feel.
The spiced spanner crab and salt cod served on a betel leaf with crunchy puffed wild rice offers a clever balance of flavours and textures. Of course, the curries are wonderful, especially the beef shin bone marrow and Kashmiri lamb curry with black cardamom, which is not too spicy but full of flavour, while the Goan pork belly curry features crispy crackling, poppy seeds and cinnamon bark.
