Chef Koichiro Mizusawa and his team do a fantastic job, welcoming guests and making them feel at home with both their warmth and their culinary options. This is why families and regulars come to Hachi-Bei. If you don’t get an inside table in the cooler months, don’t despair. They have designed the outside area to be protected from the elements while keeping the area warm and comfortable. Hachi-Bei offers favourite Japanese classic dishes that will please all ages. The menu is divided into various sections with photos and quick descriptions that will assist you in making a selection. The go-to dish is the okonomiyaki, a Japanese-style pancake filled with seafood that retains its full flavour and succulent texture during the quick cooking process. As for the pan-fried pork dumpling, you will love the dichotomy of textures produced by the cooking methods. For something more substantial, order a bowl of steamed rice to accompany the delicious teriyaki chicken that is served with carrots, broccoli and corn. PSST!
