Cucinetta

L'avis de Gault&Millau

Cucinetta is the most gorgeous little Italian eatery in the city, serving authentic cuisine using seasonal produce. This gem of a restaurant, led by Italian Head Chef Attilio Nuscis, changes its menu weekly. With a maximum of around 20 seats, including those at the bar, it’s romantic and quaint but full of bustling noise and buzz. The small menu may include a starter of fresh burratina – a ball of Italian cheese oozing with flavour on a bed of eggplant puree and tomato with a drizzle of balsamic glaze. The octopus is soft and delicate, sous-vide style with potatoes and caperberries in a subtle sauce. There is always a pasta of the day, and several other house-made options, such as fusilli – little twirls of fresh pasta with prawn and chickpeas. For a decadent and hearty option, their special ragu of veal is rich and robust, perfect on a winter night. PSST! Cucinetta has the European Coravin™ seal for its wines, which means you can try some interesting and ultra-premium varieties by the glass. Reviewed for the 2019 Guide
