Casoni.

L'avis de Gault&Millau

With Head Chef Kieran Delany at the helm, owners Julian Marchetto and Nathan Moses have created a neighbourhood restaurant that is not only inviting but also makes you feel like you’ve stepped away from Darlinghurst and into the back streets of Rome. Tucked behind Taylor Square, Casoni. is a classic, hip, Italian eatery focused on quality, seasonal food and an excellent bar service and wine list. This is a great find for a date or for an afternoon with friends! Whether with a group or sitting at the bar, there is a range of snacks from olives to cacio e pepe donuts (cheese and pepper donuts) to bone marrow toast, which all pair perfectly with an Aperol spritz. Or, sit at a comfortable booth or high table and try a plate of handmade pumpkin ravioli or orecchiette with spanner crab or their signature burrata or beef carpaccio. To complete your classic Italian food journey, you can then finish off with a no-fuss dessert and a cup of coffee. PSST! Aperol spritz is only $9 for lunch on weekends! Reviewed for the 2019 Guide
