Chef Simon Sandall’s journey has taken him from the Ritz Club in London, through 16 years at ARIA, to now owning his own place in Hunters Hill, where he focuses on perfecting simple, fresh dishes using quality ingredients and a seasonal approach.
The bright, welcoming restaurant has a modern feel, while remaining both elegant and minimal. This is the place you want in your neighbourhood!
Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, you have the opportunity to sample bistro-style food in all its guises. For lunch, the pork jaffle punches way above its weight in both portion and satisfaction. Jack’s Creek sirloin, café de Paris butter, smoked paprika and rocket is clearly a metaphor for their entire approach: classics with subtle changes that cleverly improve – rather than alter – the fundamentals. But the mark of a great chef is how they treat the classics, and the battered King George whiting, with battered chips and tartar sauce, is the poster child for that sentiment.
