Bondi’s Best (Hall Street)

L'avis de Gault&Millau

Head Chef Phillip Davenport (ex-Hugos, Ku De Ta Bali) has put together a fresh, contemporary menu that takes the best elements of Japanese cuisine and gives it a global flavour. Tucked away in the Adina complex of Bondi’s busy Hall Street is the chic, fabulously designed Bondi’s Best – small part fresh fish market, large part restaurant. From sashimi starters to crunchy tuna rolls and kingfish, truffle and avocado rolls, the fresh sashimi and sushi menu makes it difficult to choose. The inside-out rolls are delicately put together and are an experience in texture and taste. There are always specials on the menu as the focus is on what is fresh each day, but the seafood mains are also worth trying! The teriyaki salmon offers up a fresh piece of crispy-skinned salmon and the teriyaki sauce is sweet enough to make you go back for more and complements the crunchy fennel beautifully. The Patagonian toothfish is another tempting offer – try it, you’ll thank us later! PSST! For the freshest serve of fish to take home, Bondi’s Best has a takeaway fish counter!
