Chefs Jo Ward and Michelle Powell have combined their extensive culinary knowledge to bring an original and creative twist to popular French dishes in a well-constructed menu. The chic French-bistro theme is achieved by soft lighting, well-spaced tables and a slick fit-out. The large open-plan kitchen invites patrons to watch the talented chefs and to be part of the show, while the lively buzz of happy diners adds to the conviviality. The extensive wine list includes many French offerings. Take classic French cuisine, combine with European and Australian influences, and add the best local ingredients – the result is inspired dishes. Starters include a deliciously moist scampi omelette, with crunchy chunks of broccolini providing texture. The spanner crab ravioli is another popular choice and it doesn’t disappoint: soft pasta, filled with crab and topped with citrusy tomato. The tender lamb rump is accompanied by a sauce verte, charred eggplant and pickled onion. A bowl of perfectly crunchy fries, worthy of the best French bistros, is a greedy addition. PSST!
