Executive Chef David Tsirekas launched his 1821 restaurant in late 2016, and his love of creating wonderful Greek food is clearly on display. The outstanding restaurant fit-out was created in Athens and shipped to Australia; all three levels embrace a traditional Greek theme and it is easy to forget that you are in the heart of Sydney.
The menu is packed with flavoursome dishes, so deciding what to choose will be a challenge! The Greek san choi bao with smashed roasted tomato filled with herb and vegetable rice is the perfect starter. Silky smooth with perfectly balanced flavours, the tarama (swordfish roe dip) is a must-have, as is the seafood saganaki – once you delve into it you will discover a treasure trove of flavours. This sensational dish, featuring prawns, black mussels, blue-eye fillet, orzo, tomato sauce and melted kasseri cheese, is one of life’s simple pleasures.
