Chef Antonio Ruggerino draws significant inspiration from his heritage and traditional family upbringing, motivation which is never far from his heart, to showcase his take on southern Italian cuisine at verde restaurant + bar. The vintage posters adorning the walls – from Chef Ruggerino’s private collection– offer a unique visual experience and ambience. The well-priced wine list aims to deliver without emptying the pockets.
The value of simplicity is a common thread throughout regional Italy, and it is no different at verde. A generous serve of four arancini balls with grape tomato salsa represents excellent value. Similarly, the stuffed zucchini flowers, filled with ricotta and spinach, fulfil the philosophy of ensuring that diners leave fully content. The popular house-made lasagne, with béchamel sauce, is especially comforting on a cold winter night. The generous crumbed veal cotoletta with tomato, herbs and mozzarella di buffalo calls for a healthy appetite!
