Under a newly installed management team, Peter Hutchinson (ex-DeVine in Market Street), has taken over as Head Chef, and oversees the small but select lunch menu. The restaurant’s quiet elegance and cityscape views provide an ideal setting for a business lunch or relaxed meeting with friends. Diners can be seated on the balcony in warmer months, or inside at intimate, linen-covered tables arranged around the imposing bar.
The menu features European-style dishes complemented by local, seasonal ingredients. The salad of fresh figs, prosciutto, buffalo mozzarella, rocket and balsamic dressing is delightfully fresh and generous enough to satisfy a light eater as a main course. Or, it could be paired with the citrus-cured kingfish, pickled beetroot, rocket and wasabi crème frâiche. For a more substantial dish, there is moist pan-roasted spatchcock with grilled cos, peas and lardons in a luscious chicken jus.
PSST! The restaurant is only open for lunch, but the main bar menu is available into the evening (Monday to Friday).
