Executive Chef Paul McGrath oversees the kitchen teams at The Grounds of Alexandria, including The Potting Shed, a somewhat whimsical space full of flourishing plants and flowers, herbs and a veggie patch. It’s a great spot to plant yourself while you sip on an exciting cocktail or boutique ale and ponder the menu.
The wholesome menu will leave you wanting a taste of everything! Perhaps start with the hot smoked trout tacos. These crunchy starters are filled with smoked trout, dill and lime aioli and topped with salmon roe. Or maybe you’d prefer the duck liver parfait. This sensational dish, served with fried cauliflower, manchego and seaweed, just melts in the mouth. Follow with the mini braised beef cheek sliders – two mini dark rye rolls filled with tender beef, fried onion rings and oozing with warm cheese sauce. Enjoy with a side of crunchy fries for an irresistible combo!
