Head Chef Luke Sankey sure knows how to flap his wings in the kitchen; he has created a menu packed with inventive dishes. Grab a drink at the well-stocked bar, and then head upstairs to the cosy dining room. There is a casual and serene vibe at The Owl House – you can peck away on light bar snacks or take a perch and settle in for a lavish three-course feed.
Start with small bites like the marinated olives or fresh Pambula oysters. Follow with an entree of kingfish with tomato, bush lime and chilli – the fish is served in sashimi-style pieces and planted with jewels of native lime. It’s great to see the revival of skirt steak on the menu, and here at The Owl House it is served with a side of delicately layered potatoes.
PSST! Oenophiles will have fun exploring some of the best wines from around the country and the world, with unusual varieties available by the bottle and glass.
