Owner Iain Ling, former general manager of MoVida Aqui, stays true to the pub’s history, providing seasonal food that appeals to a broad audience.
A historic pub established in 1854, the venue is split into two areas. Enjoy a craft beer at the Art Deco bar at the front or take a seat in the formal dining room at the rear, decorated with softer neutral furnishing to complement the dark-wood furniture.
The Lincoln offers solid pub classics with produce sourced locally and freshly prepared. Aiming to please casual and sophisticated palates, the menu is a mix of fine dining and hearty well-executed larger dishes. From the smaller dishes, the blue swimmer crab offers two bites of flaked crab served in a prawn cracker. A subtle dish, the crab is mild and enhanced with dill, chives and a tart aioli dressing. The chicken schnitzel has an addictively crunchy crust, and comes with garlic and parsley butter and zingy coleslaw. Vegetarians will enjoy the chickpea panisse: chickpea fries, served with salt-baked vegetables and red pepper chutney.
PSST! Enjoy $18 counter lunches daily between 12 noon and 3pm.
