Head Chef Matthew Lungdon gives contemporary cuisine a delightfully fresh Mediterranean spin. The Boathouse offers a relaxed and hospitable environment, where service runs from breakfast through to dinner. Perched on the banks of the Maribyrnong River, the restaurant has a family-friendly outdoor verandah and a large indoor space with pale orange walls, wooden panelling and nautical touches throughout.
The menu leans towards modern Mediterranean fare, with a smart selection of mezze options. For something a little special, try the grilled swordfish with charred beans, salsa verde, lemon yoghurt and bottarga crumbs. The citrusy yoghurt is the perfect accompaniment for the flavoursome fish. Wagyu burger is cooked just shy of medium and is served in a soft brioche bun with crispy bacon, tasty onions and tart pickles. Well-seasoned chips with a lovely crunch round out this popular dish.
PSST! Those on a gluten-free diet rejoice – there is a dedicated menu of delectable dishes just for you.
