Owner/chef Ibrahim Kasif’s Stanbuli is a popular dining destination, and from the moment you walk in you know you are in for a special evening. With traditional decor and background music, there is a vibe and feel that sets the scene perfectly for a traditional Turkish experience.
The menu is designed to be shared as a group and there’s an excellent selection of small dishes (meze) and larger dishes, most of which are cooked over charcoal. While you peruse the menu, nibble on ekmek – delicious, soft, house-made bread with a seeded crust. Cicek dolma lightly fried, crispy zucchini flowers stuffed with a cheesy filling and served with carrot and caraway yoghurt) is a perfect starter. Kalamar local calamari with chilli and garlic), slowly cooked over the charcoal and served with a Russian potato salad, is a well-balanced, vibrant dish.
PSST! Make sure you ask the wait team to explain the menu as they are well versed on all the dishes.
