Owners Mo Wyse and Shannon Martinez have found their niche in offering delicious Italian food that also happens to be vegan.
Dark and moody, with bluestone walls, this bustling venue offers a modern vegan experience in the centre of hipster Fitzroy. Take a seat at the central communal table or share a table under the eclectic mix of rock ‘n’ roll punk wall art.
The Latin-inspired menu recently moved over to Italian and continues to offer quality vegan meals, with a selection of small and large share plates and pasta options. The smoky agrodolce eggplant is a standout: a whole charred eggplant stuffed with a delightful medley of pine nuts, salty olives, capers and chilli. You may spot some meat options on the menu, but make no mistake, no meat is served at this restaurant. The slow-braised ‘beef’ ragu is made with dried and shredded mushrooms and served on a soft, cheesy polenta. From the pasta dishes, the mushroom and marsala spaghetti has depth from the marsala and the crispy sage adds a contrasting herbaceous crunch.
