H Jin Do leads the kitchen team at Seven Lanterns, where the focus is on producing dishes that emphasise quality produce and exquisite presentation.
Featuring tasteful, modern Asian decor, the compact dining room exudes calm elegance. Beautiful tableware and theatrical flourishes when serving lift the experience to the next level. There’s a well-thought-out degustation menu with matching wines, as well as an à la carte menu, with dishes that range from traditional to fusion. To start, try the share plate of teppan- grilled king prawns, layered with creamy seafood sauce and finished with the flame torch. Or you might try the house-made Korean ravioli, filled with slow-cooked, marinated pulled pork and served in a subtly flavoured mushroom consommé. For mains, the classic teriyaki chicken features tender teppan- grilled thigh fillet served in a rich, sticky sauce, while the teppan-grilled salmon is served on a drizzle of jammy black- berry reduction, balanced by a mild chilli and tomato puree.
PSST! This small venue is packed out from Thursday onwards, so be sure to book well ahead for late-week dining.
