Co-owner/Head Chef Edward Saxton (ex-Rockpool Bar & Grill) brings a skilled hand and the very Italian philosophy of using only quality seasonal produce, so the interesting menu changes regularly.
Sagra occupies the ground floor of a terrace in the heart of the Italian dining district in Stanley Street, Darlinghurst. The decor, which had a makeover with the change of ownership in mid-2017, is refined and low-key, with polished timber flooring, white walls, marble-topped tables and bentwood chairs.
On arrival you’ll be greeted with olives, sourdough bread and olive oil to whet your appetite while perusing the menu. You could start with the pretty hand-formed ravioli enclosing creamy goat curd and dressed with a light lemony sauce or the pappardelle with a scrumptious, flavour-packed duck and porcini ragu. For mains, the duck breast cotoletta is a duck schnitzel, more flavoursome and scrumptious than its chicken or veal rivals.
PSST! A set menu is offered for groups of eight or more, and you can book the whole restaurant for private functions for up to 42 people.
