Chefs Sam Patch and Sam Young, both of whom have spent time at Merivale’s Queen Chow Enmore, are now the culinary maestros at Queen Chow Manly.
Pottery and bamboo steamers decorate Queen Chow’s dining room, which is positioned right on the waterfront at Manly Wharf. Linen tablecloths cover the tables, and larger groups can share happily utilising the lazy Susans. The wait staff are smartly attired in crisp white shirts and black bow ties, which give a sense of occasion.
Queen Chow Manly does a fantastic job at replicating the classic Cantonese dishes that people have been enjoying for years. The team have also adapted and transformed other well-known Chinese dishes, giving them an entirely new spin, such as the Mongolian lamb san choi bao. The crisp iceberg lettuce has been given the flick and replaced with a new lettuce that allows for a more flexible wrap. The salt ’n’ pepper squid sticks to its roots and won’t disappoint, due to the quality of the squid.
PSST! Queen Chow offers a delicious yum cha lunch menu on weekends.
