Head Chef Neil Nolan has been with Pony since 2006. His focus on cooking over wood is at the heart of the restaurant, with the open kitchen allowing Neil to chat to guests, adding to the friendly vibe of the restaurant.
Located up a small cobblestone alley in The Rocks, Pony is a trendy and romantic restaurant, a wonderful place to go for a date or with a group of friends.
The menu has a great mix of red meat, chicken and seafood. To start, the Paris sausage is a must – it has a beautiful smoky taste. It is juicy and tender and topped with silky pickled onion jam with Dijon mustard as a great cut-through. Served perfectly cooked to order, the quality of the rib eye is exceptional. It’s topped with bone marrow, which adds a fun element and a creaminess to the dish, while horseradish serves as a zesty counterpoint. For share meals, there’s a pork belly with apple compote or 1kg T-bone with grilled sea banana.
PSST! The cocktails are amazing and they even run a cocktail masterclass.
