Chefs draw inspiration from their dreams, travels and work colleagues. This certainly applies to Andy Tomkinson, and his experiences are evident in his food, with a menu based on simplicity, colour, vibrancy and fun. Pink Salt is a tranquil haven that is unpretentious and relaxing. It is a real treat to sit outside under the pergola on a sunny day.
While the menu covers a tremendous amount of geographical ground, it is cleverly kept simple. You will notice that the dishes have a festive feel, with lots of colour, attractive presentation and different crockery used to enhance the look. You will feel like you are celebrating an occasion. If you enjoy meat on the bone, then opt for the lamb ribs. The meat falls off the bone, with the crispy skin adding a nice textural dimension. Labne, pistachios, pickled cucumber and pomegranate complete this colourful dish. Or, try the delicious pork belly with kale, broad bean, apple and walnuts – another colourful dish that explores punchy flavours and exciting textures.
