Chef Todd Stuart has been at the helm of Petite Mort for seven years now. Petite Mort is the proper definition of gastronomy, and the inspiration for his creative dishes, offered as small plates, often lies in European cuisine.
Situated in Shenton Park, the restaurant has two dining areas. The interior is quite colourful, with artwork on the brick walls picking up the colours of the upholstery and plateware.
The popular degustation menu is a great way to try a selection of dishes from the à la carte options. From there you can choose to match all your dishes with well-selected wines. So, if you are tossing up between the salmon or the lamb, opt for the nine-course meal. With contemporary plating, the pork with corn three ways is a superb dish: tender meat accompanied by torched corn, popcorn and baby corn – inventive and so delicious. Dorper lamb features tender, melt-in-the-mouth meat and the accompanying vegetables bring a range of textures to the dish, while the cured salmon with wasabi sorbet is a beautiful, well-seasoned, Japanese-inspired dish.
