UPDATE: In August 2019, Uday Huja was announced as the new Executive Chef at Nineteen at The Star.
Nineteen at The Star, with young gun Kelvin Andrews at the helm, has hit the ground running. The impressive menu, unapologetically featuring premium ingredients throughout, signals itself as a big night out on the Gold Coast.
Absolutely no expense has been spared on the fit-out, and the line-up of seasoned hospitality professionals on the team is impressive to say the least – it shows in the polished service that literally shines like a star!
It is rare to find a menu so decadent, and the prices reflect that; however, when the delivery is so precise, it becomes less of an issue. The generously portioned marron and crustacean risotto with dill oil and fennel pollen has a flawless bite to the grain, and delivers a lush mouthfeel with a lovely resonance of background spice. The highly marbled, full-bodied wagyu sirloin ‘Kiwami’ is entirely spectacular, and the accompanying condiments, along with the textbook reduction, allow this sublime protein to take centre stage.
PSST! Why not start with a cocktail in the adjacent outdoor bar, 19 floors up, and absorb the stellar view before heading into the restaurant.
