Celebrating 30 years in business, Mures Upper Deck has earned its reputation as one of Tasmania’s most famous restaurants. The Mure family has been in the seafood business for over 40 years, and Mures Upper Deck restaurant is the flagship of their group, with a seafood menu designed by Head Chef Eugene Burgo (ex-Slate). Located on the first floor of the building at Victoria Dock, the restaurant accesses fresh seafood directly from fishing boats.
With everything from Tasmanian Pacific oysters to indulgent seafood platters, this is the place to come if you adore seafood! Bass Strait squid is dusted in chilli salt and served with a green mango salad and lemon yoghurt. The tender strips of squid have a lovely hint of spice. Pan-seared to perfection, Tasmanian scallops are accompanied by leek puree, chorizo jus plus chilli and herb pangrattato. The jus gives the plump scallops a hit of heat.
PSST! For a less formal dining atmosphere, try Mures Upper Deck’s sister restaurant, Pearl + Co, situated on the ground level.
