Head Chef Justin Paul offers a revolving menu of solid French dishes that pay homage to rustic traditions. A casual yet sophisticated French bistro atmosphere dominates at Mr Mason. The wooden floors and dark brown plush furnishings contrast warmly with the brick walls and industrial wire racks that elegantly display a boutique selection of wines. Mr Mason is popular with the business lunch crowd.
There is something for everyone on the menu, from oysters to steak. Grilled butterfish is beautifully charred and looks absolutely stunning on the plate. It is accompanied by a warm cannelloni bean salad, crisp kaiser bacon, shredded fennel and a herb vinaigrette. Camembert croquette is satisfyingly crunchy, with a delicious cheesy taste. Orange and cranberry jam is tart enough to cut through the richness of the camembert, while baked slices of orange are a delightfully fruity addition to this dish.
PSST! The Express Lunch menu on weekdays is excellent value – choose a main and a drink for just $20.
