Lachlan’s Restaurant can be found in the lush National Trust grounds of Parramatta Park. While still possessing an old-world charm, the menu created by Chef Kyle Newman is contemporary, with inventive flavour combinations. Dine alfresco on the vine-clad verandah overlooking the historic Old Government House, or experience the cosy indoor dining rooms adorned with original classic features.
Chef Newman makes the most of seasonal produce, and the menu offers entree and main serving sizes; allowing diners to choose their own food adventure. For a light vegetarian starter, the spinach and fetta slice is well balanced with the earthy vibrancy of beetroot relish and delicate golden pastry. Follow with juicy tempura prawns, generous in serving size. Dip these in the sesame–sweet potato puree and savour the crunch of the cucumber–coriander salsa.
PSST! For a special occasion, book in for a group chef’s choice menu, with the menu written from week to week, and inspired by the seasons.
