Naomi Hart and Gregory Llewellyn are the duo behind Hartsyard. Chef Llewellyn runs the kitchen, where he follows nose-to-tail and root-to-leaf concepts using the best and freshest produce available. The cosy venue is designed for sharing food with friends. Dine at the bar, at the communal table or in the main dining area at one of the tables over-looking the bustling kitchen.
You will want to try many dishes on the seasonally changing menu, so perhaps start off with something small. Smoked trout with golden beets and trout roe is divine – a flavour explosion! The fish is smoked in-house – it’s subtle and delicate, and matched perfectly with pickled beets and crispy, paper-thin bagel chips. The main event is a serious affair – pulled pork with labne and apple. Maple bacon – crunchy and oh-so-sweet – completes the dish, yet the pork remains the star.
