As far as location goes in Perth, you can’t beat Halo. Situated in a prime spot on the Swan River, this is a place to while away a few hours watching the world go by. The concise contemporary menu showcases the wares of local providores, and leans towards Western Australian seafood. Clean and simple, the interior decor lets the view do the talking. Staff members are friendly and knowledgeable.
The menu features a well-thought-out range of dishes that appeals to all diners. Beetroot-cured kingfish looks pretty on the plate, as it is surrounded by smooth avocado mousse and beetroot gel. It is a mildly flavoured entree. Wagyu rump is beautifully cooked so it retains maximum flavour and superb texture. Celeriac gratin and silverbeet remoulade are well-chosen accompaniments, as they ensure the meat is the star of the show.
PSST! The five-course Chef’s Menu for $95 per person, with a paired wine option for an additional $45 per person, represents excellent value.
