Led by Head Chef Petros Stoubos, the team at Greek at The Belvedere Hotel bring authentic Greek food to the heart of Sydney’s CBD. Creating a traditional experience combining Greek-style hospitality with a cosy and romantic atmosphere, the restaurant occupies Level 1 of The Belvedere Hotel. The ground floor is a typical city pub and the top floor has a beautiful terrace setting. The set-up is old fashioned but still manages to exude a Mediterranean/Greek tavern style and atmosphere.
The extensive menu reflects traditional Greek cuisine. Grilled haloumi is a hot favourite to kick off your Hellenic culinary journey. Served with ouzo grapes, cherry tomatoes and pomegranate syrup, this dish is exquisite in texture and flavour. Main courses offer a selection of dishes from the land and from the sea, and the moussaka – the Greek answer to lasagne – features layered eggplant, potatoes, beef mince topped with a cheesy béchamel sauce served on well-seasoned shredded cabbage.
