A step up from the regular brewpub that Australians are accustomed to, Frenchies is fast becoming an icon among the locals in Rosebery. Co-founders Head Chef Thomas Cauquil and Head Brewer Vincent De Soyres are welcoming, energetic, present on the floor and ready to chat about the latest menu or beer creation.
The venue has the casual feel of a French bistro where the decor is kept simple, allowing the diner to focus all of their attention on the presentation of the food and the flavours of the beer. The staff are relaxed and excited to pour you a beer as you take your seat.
Frenchies offers a small, seasonal, excellent value-for-money menu. You may find grilled red imperador with savoy cabbage and beurre blanc on the menu, a delicious dish showcasing the soft flesh and crispy skin of the fish. Likewise, pork belly and gorgonzola wrapped in witlof presents a beautiful mix of textures and flavours. If you want a really special experience, try the five-course degustation with matching beers!
PSST! There’s a small bar menu and beer paddles to relax the afternoon away.
