The talents of Chef Mark Archer and owner/Sommelier Stuart Knox combine to produce innovative modern cuisine with an international flavour and an extensive and eclectic wine list for an appreciative clientele.
The split-level room is modern and cool, an inviting oasis behind a large glass panel facing the bustling city street. The minimalist decor brings the focus on the main attraction – the outstanding food and wines. The rear wall is covered with an impressive and tempting display of wine bottles, while outside tables offer a relaxing setting to watch the crowds go past.
No-nonsense plating is crisp and allows the food to shine. The pumpkin risotto is rich and creamy – crunchy pine nuts add texture and a pleasing taste. Salt and pepper school prawns are presented in a paper box evoking memories of relaxing beachside takeaways. The small, sweet, crunchy prawns are fried in their shells and perfectly seasoned. Spanner crab, garlic butter and chilli linguine is another standout dish, with the delicate flesh of the crab holding just a hint of garlic and chilli.
