Chefs Virginia Redmond and Michelle Elia deliver an authentic Italian menu that has stood the test of time, along with seasonal specials that make the most of local produce. Situated in bustling Acland Street, this long-standing restaurant offers old-school Italian hospitality in a relaxed atmosphere. The eclectic collection of artwork that adorns the walls adds to the character of this gorgeous restaurant.
The menu features a solid selection of traditional Italian dishes that have charmed diners since the early 1990s. Risotto is made from vialone nano rice, and it is a decadent and creamy dish with stunning flavours of truffle and sage throughout. Meaty pine mushrooms and crunchy chunks of walnut enhance the texture. Braised lamb shoulder with turnips, peas, gnocchi, ricotta and gremolata features glistening chunks of tender lamb. The meat is accompanied by fluffy gnocchi and is dressed with a citrusy gremolata.
PSST! Cicciolina’s sister restaurant, Ilona Staller in Balaclava, offers a family-friendly environment complete with kids’ menu.
