Chef Saju Rajappan has a constructed a menu that features hearty staples, robust grills, light salads and sandwiches.
As the in-house restaurant at the historic Hotel Kurrajong – once the living quarters and meeting place for the political cadres of federal governments past – it fills its role nicely. The dark wood and open fire in the hotel foyer are cosy and welcoming on the way through to the elegant dining room adorned with palms and comfy upholstered chairs.
Popular lunchtime offerings include burgers and the perennial club sandwich. The dinner menu offers a well-thought-out range. Start with fresh and zesty Thai beef salad, with herbs, lime and chilli complementing the tender, chargrilled beef strips. There’s a choice of beef cuts and salmon from the grill, or you could try the organic linguine – cooked al dente, with luscious prawns and a spice hit of chilli in the olive oil, garlic and fresh cherry tomato sauce.
PSST! Take a table under the verandah or out in the grassy courtyard on a sunny day or cool evening to enjoy drinks and a few snacks from the bar menu.
