With extensive training at two leading London restaurants, Head Chef Matthew Knoops now cooks exquisite Italian cuisine at Chiara, a classy and elegant establishment.
Stylish, with clean lines and dark accents, the sophisticated dining room has marble tables and sharply dressed wait staff. Their wine list is predominately Italian, with some excellent unique varieties and a premium list by the glass.
The Italian menu has beautifully aesthetic dishes. Start with a gin-cured Ora king salmon with subtle apple, cucumber and almond rice starch chip. With preserved lemon, juicy fresh figs and radiant radish, the whipped ricotta salad is a gorgeous and colourful dish. House-made pasta, such as hand-cut pappardelle, may have strips soaking in a wild boar ragu with parmigiano reggiano. Larger dishes may include a grilled swordfish with a thinly sliced fennel salad with lemon and capers. Otherwise, a 250g Hopkins River eye fillet comes with cavalo nero, chargrilled lemon and a red wine jus.
