Chefs Gallery was founded by Din Tai Fung founder, Kaisern Ching, and is now in six venues around Sydney.
The Town Hall site is their flagship venue, and it’s a bustling, busy restaurant that is packed each lunchtime with patrons in search of some of the best Chinese food in the CBD. You're immediately drawn to the feature kitchen, where chefs busily prepare hand-made noodles and dumplings. The service is brisk and efficient, so you won’t be waiting long to be served.
The menu features interesting takes on Chinese classics and some new recipes unique to Chefs Gallery. The extensive menu includes Chinese rotis, dumplings, noodles, small share plates and main sharing plates. The crispy honey eggplant with Sichuan pepper is a generous serve of lovely, sweet, sticky, battered and fried sticks of eggplant. It’s sure to win many a heart. The Peking duck roti is an interesting take on the classic duck pancake, replacing the traditional pancake with a roti, and comes fully rolled, ready to eat.
PSST! Make sure you book ahead for lunch to beat the queues.
