Head Chef Ghassan Shqairat presents a menu of classic Lebanese-influenced Mediterranean dishes in this Phoenician-styled restaurant on Hamilton’s Portside Wharf complex.
Located at the end of the wharf, it is often dominated by the cruise ships tied up alongside – just as depicted in its Phoenician-inspired decor with carvings of the seafarers of those ancient times.
Start with some traditional dips – hummus, baba ganoush and labna with Lebanese bread. Fatayer are oven-baked pastries filled with spinach, walnuts and spices, while pumpkin kebbi have a spicy spinach and fetta filling rolled in sweetened pumpkin. From the grill, flame-grilled marinated skewers include a lamb fillet seasoned with herbs and spices, Dory fillets with lemon juice, and a vegetarian skewer with diced haloumi, eggplant, capsicum and mushrooms. You can also enjoy a mixed grill or a Mezza Banquet for the table. Finish with Turkish delight, baklava and strong Lebanese coffee.
