With the legendary Armando Percuoco, one of the winners of our latest Yellow Rose Award, recently retiring and handing over the ownership reins of this iconic restaurant to his loyal Head Chef and protégé David Wright and partner Rosalba Bertocci, patrons should be comforted by the measured continuity of the succession plan.
As it should, the warm and comforting room remains largely untouched, with the quietly assured kitchen brigade still visible through the glass-screened pass, while the greeting and farewell from the front of house remains genuine.
Start with the zesty hiramasa kingfish crudo, with searing acidity from the gin and vermouth marinade, innovatively garnished with candied orange and Campari crystals. The signature dish of fettuccine al tartufovo, with decadent amounts of cream and parmesan, and topped with a fried truffle egg, is better than ever! The grilled crumbed veal rolled with spinach, nutmeg and parmesan is a masterclass of technique, and an homage to flavour.
PSST! Buon Ricordo's recently renovated private dining room in the wine cellar offers the ultimate indulgent experience.
