Chef David Bitton’s café/bistro has been a feature of Inner West dining for almost 20 years. The development of his grocery food range complements the offerings on the breakfast, lunch and dinner menus that change seasonally.
Nestled next to a park in Alexandria, Bitton embraces a warm community vibe, where patrons are comfortable dropping in for a snack, a coffee or something more substantial. Families are welcome and streetside dining under a leafy canopy is pleasant in mild weather.
Traditional French staples like the croque monsieur or madame are adorned with organic produce and house-made products like the Bitton tarragon mustard. Choose from tempting sandwiches of crab or spiced chicken using the Bitton Moroccan spice, and garlic prawn or salmon Niçoise salads (with Bitton black olive tapenade, of course!). For something more substantial, classic steak frites consists of a 200g eye fillet with a dressed green salad, or try the house-made pumpkin ravioli, slicked with a delightful sage burnt butter and scattered with pine nuts.
PSST! Unique Bitton products are available to buy at the café or online.
