Since the success of Guillaume at Bennelong at the Sydney Opera House, owner/Chef Guillaume Brahimi has gone on to open a number of Bistro Guillaume venues in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.
Chic and elegant, Bistro Guillaume is evocative of a classic French neighbourhood bistro. Take a seat in the light-filled, timber-panelled dining room or step outside onto the riverside terrace with expansive views onto the Yarra.
The menu features time-honoured French bistro dishes supplemented by daily blackboard specials. The onion soup is outstanding: a tangle of delicious darkened onions swim in a rich soup with gruyere-topped croutons. The twice-baked soufflé is executed with precision, fluffy and light, with decadent Roquefort cheese. From the main course options, the Bannockburn half chicken is topped with an outstanding, rich tarragon-flecked jus and a buttery Paris mash. Sides are light and fresh – try the mixed leaves, topped with creamy Meredith goat curd and subtle vinaigrette.
PSST! For a lighter bite, take a seat on the terrace and choose from the bar menu.
